Christmas Card book

My BFF taught this great class the other night.  She is soooo talented and clever. We (the students) saved all our Christmas cards, envelopes, anything from any events that happened in December and then came together and created this fun book!

We placed friends return address labels on the inside cover. I know I used last year's book to do this year's Christmas cards!

There were divider pages for different segments. Of course you had to figure out what you wanted where on your own and that was the hardest!

I even kept the stamps and adhered them to one page divider. It's fun to see how the stamps change from year to year.

The dividers are a good spot to place pictures and other extra items. It certainly has been fun to see how much the children change from year to year. No more guessing what year the photos were taken!

On the left, you'll see that some of the dividers even have pockets! What a great place to stash Christmas letters and other fun things...

Here's the back cover... Aren't I right to brag on her cleverness? The book was bound with the Zutter bind-it-all. She had us hang some plastic ornaments on the spine and tie a few ribbons on it too.
Stacy McGinnis..........you rock girl!!

January QK CLub

February Calendar page..I know some of you aren't into the Valentine theme, however, these items could easily be changed out to other options. Minus the bigger heart, this is just a simple February page. Think about using QuicKutz/Lifestyles topsy-turvy cake, their cute cupcake or a picture of your loved one in its stead.

For the heart, I used a vintage card that I photocopied onto cardstock. Your options are limitless!

The companion page to the January calendar is quite simple, but holds 2 4x6" photos stacked on the black mat. Remembering my goal to only use 4x6 images this year (oooh what a challenge), I made sure to allow extra in cutting the mat for the pictures to be framed. The white is for your journaling, or devoid of that, add a snowman or something else relevant to the pictures!

The lace is tied in a simple knot and the 'stickled' snowflake is layered over the knot with a glue dot.

Supplies for February calendar:
QK months die cuts

QK heart cookie cutter die
Martha Stewart heart border punch

QuicKutz Club 2011 - paper listing

As promised (but later than expected - it's been traumatic at my house! and it's all my fault...) here is the listing of paper and months if you are so inclined as to put your dates on the calendar pages...

February - Stilleto
March - Leafy
April - Bubble
May - Candy
June - Loyal
July - Powder
August - Daisy
September - Citrus
October - Inkjet
November - Coffee
December - Poppy

So now to the trauma - as I said it's all my fault. I trusted sweet husband to throw out some trash. He was just a bit overzealous.. he threw out a bag with a paper piercer, a snowflake punch, the tag punch, the stamping block and two of the clear snowflake stamps and a small wooden snowflake stamp. I'm guessing there might have been some inkpads in there and who knows what else. And since I didn't throw a hissy, I calmly said to the sweet husband last night, that this was all my fault because I trusted him... we went to replace the items.. the two snowflake stamps were in a set and that was easily found - whew. Found a snowflake punch, but it's not exactly the same and I have to wait to use my 50% off at Michael's - and double check the size - I might have found a substitute tag punch. -----As I said--------my fault. Do not let a man do a woman's job (just kidding- no offense meant) or better do not let my husband do something I should have done in the first place!! LOL The good news in all of this is that I had put up a whole boatload of dies that were in that bag! And the companion page to the calendar is completed!! Now on to February's calendar page.. Wow this is confusing!! What do you think?

Be sure to check out Creative Journeys for a chance to win a set of monogrammed linen napkins, if you are so inclined!! But you have to leave a comment HERE to be entered, and to follow! ;-)
